What’s for lunch? Paleo lunchbox


Eating like a caveman in the modern world doesn’t mean just meat, meat and a little more meat. If you’re following a paleo way of eating, then it should be about consuming a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, meat, chicken, seafood, nuts, seeds, healthy oils and fats and avoiding packaged and processed foods.

These lunchbox options are grain free, gluten free, dairy free, sugar free, legume free and full of whole, natural foods. So check out these paleo options and add more nutrients to your lunchbox.



If you eat these with the skin on like an apple, then they can be a handy little snack. If you prefer the skin off, take a little spoon with you and dig in.

Nut butter

You may end up consuming a lot of nuts when following a paleo diet but nut butter can mix things up a little. Paired with a few veggie sticks it makes a super little snack.


Low in sugar, high in fibre and so easy to eat a bucket load in one sitting, berries of any type are full of nutrients and are easy to eat on the go.


Hard boiled eggs are easy to prepare a few days in advance, add them to your lunch box with the shell on, or take the shell off for quicker and mess free eating. If others find the eggy smell a little overpowering, just take them to a quiet spot, or head outside for some fresh air and munch on this great protein source.

Steak salad

Start with a base of leafy greens, add tomato and olives and a spoonful of sauerkraut and olive oil with a few slices of steak for an easy salad option. Plus, you can eat this one chilled if you pack it in your lunch bag with a little freezer block.
